"Someday" by Jonny Wynns: Trusting God While You Wait for What's Next


Can you trust God with your future love? 

Jonny Wynns started praying for his future wife at the age of fourteen. (!!) He didn’t have a face to picture or a name to whisper. He just had faith that she was out there, somewhere, and that God was already writing her story alongside his. That kind of patience doesn’t come naturally. It gets built, one prayer at a time, and it requires a precious level of trust and diligence.

Jonny Wynns - Someday“Someday” is a heartfelt pop single that Jonny wrote for his future wife. He sings, “I know that I don’t know you now, but I know someday I will.” Now, he’s not pretending that the unknown is comfortable. He admits that he’s “obsessed with what I don’t know,” but still he still chooses trust over anxiety. Notice what he does with any feelings of discomfort that this could create: “For now I’ll trust the Maker, cause I know that He made you.” He changes his focus from the empty space to the One who fills it. 

Grab your Bible and let’s read about Habakkuk. Habakkuk wrestled with a similar kind of waiting. God told him, “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end — it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay” (see: Habakkuk 2:3). That promise wasn’t a reason to sit still and passively wait. It was a call to keep moving faithfully until the appointed time arrived (according to His timing, and not ours).

Your “someday” might not be a romantic one. Maybe it’s a career, a healing, a reunion, or a dream still unformed. “Waiting well” doesn’t mean staring at the calendar and counting the days. It’s all about growing into the person your “someday” requires — that’s the real work. Jonny puts it simply: “I know I gotta grow to be the one you need.” So ask yourself what growth looks like today? 

Go ahead and give this song a listen. May it remind you that patience and preparation belong together. “I can’t wait for someday.”

"Stand By Me" by Daniel Aranda: Finding Steadiness in Life's Storms

Who’s standing with you in the storm? “Stand By Me” by Daniel Aranda is an amazing rendition of a hymn written by Charles Albert Tindley in 1905. Tindley was the son of a former slave, a man who knew what it meant to need help that wasn’t guaranteed. He didn’t write from comfort. He wrote from the middle of a fight, and that’s exactly why the song is still so relevant and cherished by many today. "Paper Lantern Heart" by MK Green: When God Lights a Fire You Can't Contain

What happens when God lights a fire in you?  Some fires refuse to stay hidden. MK Green wrote “Paper Lantern Heart” around that exact truth, inspired by Jeremiah 20:9, where the prophet admits that he tried to stop preaching but simply couldn’t. The Word burned inside him “like a fire shut up in my bones.” Green’s lyrics echo that same struggle: “Behind the bones inside my chest there burns a paper heart.” Cold turns to burning.
