Scars do not end the story.
“At That Moment” by Joseph G Tian starts quietly. Piano, a restrained voice, a lonely road: “Walking that road alone my Lord, with pain and cruelest words.” Joseph G Tian allows you to linger in that darkness for a few moments. You hear the crown of thorns, the wounds, the storm. Then the strings swell, the guitar lifts, and the music breaks open.
“Who rolled the stone? The angel sang. Now the world is wide awake.”
That change is the core story of our faith. Christ did not skip the suffering to reach the victory. He carried it, and Joseph sings: “bore my shame and took my part.” Have you ever felt that your own pain was too heavy for God to reach? Look again at the scars.
The apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:11: “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”
The same power that emptied the tomb lives in you today. It reaches all of those failed plans, the grief you carry, the habits that you’re not able to shake. Don’t wait for a perfect day to believe it. Start your day by naming one burden and then handing it over to the risen King. Then go about your day as someone who has already been rescued.
Did you notice what the song never does? It never hides the scars! It sings that the King rises “shining from the scars,” and your scars can also shine.
Listen to “At That Moment” and let the song carry you from your shadows into His light. Sing along. Mean every word. “My lord at that moment, how close you are. Take me home to your kingdom.”
