What’s holding back your praise today?   A piano riff started it all. A choir leader lost in the words of a song, feeling something shift in his spirit. That’s how “I Will Dance” by Arnex began, long before Emmanuel Smith came on board. Arnex met Emmanuel Smith, who was ministering at their youth event, and something clicked instantly. Arnex shares: “I was immediately struck by how genuinely down-to-earth, warm, and authentic he is. I connected with him instantly.” What came out of that connection wasn’t polished or restrained. Ready to see God move today? Kristin wrote “A New Thing!” during a season of real change. This is her third new release this year, and there is a growing group of listeners tuning in to her songs, and that’s not a coincidence. The message in “A New Thing!” emphasizes that something changes when we stop waiting for permission and start expecting God to act. Expecting God to act isn’t the same as expecting God to do what you think you need. This expectation becomes clearer when you listen to the chorus: “See He is doing a new thing // See what blessings He will bring.” Notice that there is an instruction tucked inside the lyrics — see it. Perceive it. The song is a fun pop song that’s easy to listen to, utilizing vivid imagery of God’s beautiful creations to draw the listener toward a sense of gratitude and worship. Oludee beautifully paints a picture through her well-written lyrics of a world carefully crafted by God’s hand. References to the trees of the field (0:20), the changing seasons (0:47, 1:32), and the sun and clouds (1:19) emphasize that nature is a testament to God’s “masterpiece” (2:49). Read Psalm 19:1: “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” Creation isn’t silent. It’s constantly preaching, and most of us just aren’t listening. Can your own strength really wash away shame? Pride has a cost. In the song “Trust in Him”, John Long lays out that price in this warm, folk-driven track, tracing a familiar road: chasing your own desires, putting your name above everything else, then watching the fires catch up. He sings, “I knew I couldn’t outrun all the fires that came from putting pride on my name.” Most of us know that road because we’ve already walked it. But John doesn’t stay there long. The lyrics turn. “Hell started laughin’,” John sings, “but it turned to fear when the stone rolled away.” That’s the pivot point in this song. Death didn’t win. Who’s really got the upper hand today?  Self-doubt has a way of moving in uninvited. It grabs your hand and walks you right to the edge of panic, then tries to convince you that’s home. “Upper Hand” by Maddi Jane opens as a confession — holding onto old patterns like they were solutions, focusing on everything slipping away instead of what’s already secure. That creates so much noise and consumes so much of our energy that we tend to forget that there’s a better option within our reach. Maddi sings about giving it all to God, about hitting the ceiling of her own strength and watching Him show up right on time. “My God He always wins in the end,” she declares. “I got the upper hand.” Not because she muscled her way there. It’s because she stopped trying to.  Romans 8:37 describes this change: “we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” We’re not conquerors! We are more than conquerors. Where do you run to when your hope runs out? Darkness doesn’t ask permission before it shows up. Josh Clay knows this. His song “No Rock (Alternative Version)” opens in the middle of this fight: “I know what it’s like to walk in darkness… will I always feel so broken and alone.” That question lingers in a lot of hearts and stays there longer than anyone admits out loud. But Josh turns the listener toward a solid foundation — one that doesn’t shift, crack, or give out. “There’s no rock like our God,” he sings, “not one more faithful.” God as our “Almighty fortress // Tower of strength // Shield of protection.” This isn’t wishful thinking; Josh is stating a fact.  Psalm 62:6–7 puts it plainly: “He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken… my refuge is God.” Notice what that verse is saying.
