Jenn Bostic - Leave It At The Cross (CCM)

Jenn Bostic - Leave It At The Cross
'Leave It At The Cross' is a powerful new Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) single from Jenn Bostic. Throughout the song, Bostic reveals a personal expression of faith, starting with its first line, "Father to the fatherless, Defender to the weak.".

The song, titled 'Leave It at the Cross,' is the latest track on Jenn Bostic's forthcoming record, which is expected to be released Spring 2022.

The music video for Leave It At The Cross drew Bostic outside of her comfort zone, but reacquainted her with an art form she once loved, performed and trained in as a child, but had no time to commit to as an adult.

We are encouraged in this song to completely surrender to God, placing every hurt, pain, fear, and even dreams at the foot of the cross in order to experience the peace and freedom God designed us for.

"I found a new sense of freedom by fully surrendering to God physically and sonically," says Bostic. “It is my prayer that through this video and song, others might be encouraged in doing the same.”

Lyrics:

Father to the fatherless
Defender to the weak
Freedom for the prisoner
A friend when I’m in need

Feel the Earth shake, see the sky break, feel the rain
Feel like something in my heart’s about to change
All this guilt and all this shame

I give it all away,
Every hurt, every pain, every dream I suffocate
I give it all away
Every fear that I’ve fought, every self-defeating thought
Leave it at the cross, leave it at the cross

Layin’ down my bitterness
Not clinging to regrets
One foot in this crazy world
And one foot in the next

Feel the Earth shake, see the sky break, feel the rain
Feel like somethin’ in my heart’s about to change
All this guilt and all this shame

I give it all away,
Every hurt, every pain, every dream I suffocate
I give it all away
Every fear that I’ve fought, every self-defeating thought
Leave it at the cross, leave it at the cross

Leave it at the cross
It’s too heavy, it’s too heavy, leave it at the cross
It’s too heavy, it’s too heavy, leave it at the cross
Leave it, leave it
I can hear I can hear You knockin’, knockin’ on my heart
I can hear I can hear You knockin’, knockin’ on my heart
Leave it, leave it
I can hear I can hear You knockin’, knockin’ on my heart
I can hear I can hear You knockin’, knockin’ on my heart
Leave it at the cross, leave it at the cross
Leave it at the cross

All this guilt and all this shame
All this hurt and all this pain
Leave it at the cross
Leave it at the cross
