New Christian Music Releases For Friday, December 1st, 2023 (Possibly the last New Music Overview that we can publish in this form)

Here are the new Christian Music releases that we have gathered for you over the past week. This overview contains releases in the genres: Christian Contemporary Music (CCM), Christian EDM (CEDM), and Gospel. 

At the end of this post, you can find links to our playlists with recent releases. Upcoming Thursday we will share an overview of the most popular songs that were released today (based on the number of streams).

We're not sure how long we'll be able to keep publishing this overview...

Spotify recently laid off a large number of their employees, including a data scientist who was publishing the extracts that we use as a source for our reviews every Friday. It is unclear whether or not this service will continue.

"Holy Vessel" by Paul Scala: Your Body Is a Temple Worth Guarding

Your body is holy. Live like it. Paul Scala felt the Lord press on his heart to write about a struggle that touches almost everyone, but only a few people actually name it out loud. So he wrote “Holy Vessel” in the voice of God Himself. Not as a lecture. There’s no finger-pointing. Just a Father who is speaking to His children. Listen to how the song opens: “Son, please know that, you were bought with a great price.” Then the lyrics turn to the daughters: “I see you, not in shame but as My bride.” Shame has no seat at this table. Why does that matter? Lust leads to sin, and “sin ain’t worth your soul” . This lust leads to shame, and shame keeps people stuck. Condemnation sends us hiding, while love sends us running. This song reminds us of God’s unwavering love and His desire to restore, redeem, and make us new… especially when we have stumbled or fallen. "You Know That I Love You" by David Bollmann: Love That Answers Failure with Mercy

Jesus meets your failure with mercy, not rejection. Peter once promised that he’d never leave. And before a rooster crowed, he’d denied Jesus three times. Have you ever failed at the very thing you swore you’d never fail at? David Bollmann’s third single, “You Know That I Love You”, begins with a promise much like Peter’s: “Others may deny You, I won’t.” The song draws on John 21, where the risen Jesus meets Peter on a beach. He doesn’t scold Peter. He asks him one question, three times over, and Peter, hurt but honest, answers: “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Peter brings no excuses and no résumé. Only his (imperfect) love, offered with empty hands. The lyrics echo that same longing: “There’s gotta be something I can give You, some cross I can bear too.” We too may feel the desire to repay Jesus for what He has done. But can we? Never!
