Where do your eyes land when your faith feels thin?
Madison Marlyn wrote “The Love Of The Lamb” while reflecting on Jesus in the garden during Lent. She wanted a song that captures truths that the church can sing to each other. The song speaks to us in doubt, in shame, and in overflowing joy. It was born in Lent, yet it belongs to “Ordinarytime”, pulling us back to the goodness of the Gospel again and again.
Madison’s answer: “Look at the love of the Lamb in Gethsemane.” Picture that scene. Jesus, in the darkest night of his life, prayed, and then walked toward the cross anyway. Nobody dragged Him there. Love carried Him.
Hands that “still shake” still count. Doubt doesn’t disqualify you, and shame does not get the last word. Read what Paul says in Romans 8:1: “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” It doesn’t say “less condemnation”… None! The song echoes this promise: “Our new name is written.”
What would change in your life if you fully embraced this truth today? You would stop rehearsing your failures. You would loosen your grip on your own faith and let Christ hold you instead.
So take your doubt to ‘Gethsemane’ this week. Name your shame out loud and hand it over to God. When joy floods your heart, don’t sprint past the Giver. Slow down. Praise Him. Stay put.
Press play and sing it back to God. May the lyrics carry the truth deeper than your worries can reach. “Look at the love of the Lamb in Gethsemane.”

Background:
In reflecting on Jesus in the garden during Lent, I set out to write a song that captured truths that the church could sing to each other. It speaks directly to us when we are in doubt, in shame, or in abundant joy. It was written in Lent, but its a song for Ordinarytime, meant to continually bring us back to the goodness of the Gospel.
