What happens when success becomes your idol? DVNY was a career musician who spent years chasing the next festival, the next club, the next milestone. The applause kept coming, but something inside him kept fading. What if you didn’t have to hold it all together on your own? Morgan Starner wrote “Sink or Swim” as an antidote to a world drowning in stress. She explains that the song is meant to remind us that God can walk on water, even when everything around us feels like it’s sinking. The song opens with a familiar pain: “I’ve been noticing my heart’s been racing, my mind is impatient.” Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Just scroll through your social media for ten minutes, and you’ll feel it too, a restless static that Starner calls “scrolling till my soul’s become restless.” We already start to stress about the next thing before the current thing has even settled. The song points us to a safe way forward. “When I’m drowning underneath the weight, You take all of my burdens away.” That’s not wishful thinking. Can worries stop the seasons from changing? “Changing” by Anne Elise is about the beauty and uncertainty of life’s changing seasons. Anne Elise sings, “I was just getting used to the flowers, when everything was green,” and then mid-September showed up uninvited. The colors shifted before she was ready for it. By December, snow covered the sidewalk, she heard a choir singing somewhere in the cold, and she wondered, “Wasn’t it just yesterday?” That question hits close to home, doesn’t it? Life rarely waits for permission to move on. Life’s seasons blur into the next, and we’re left standing in something unfamiliar, whispering “oh my my” under our breath. Here’s what makes this song more than a pretty metaphor… Its message points to a truth that many of us try to resist. “Returning — Live” by Victory House Worship makes us aware that all of creation seems to hold its breath. “The earth is groaning for redemption, Creation reaches for Her King.” That’s the present-day reality that the apostle Paul described centuries ago, and Victory House Worship beautifully captures that in this song. The lyrics don’t dwell only on what Jesus already did at the cross; it looks forward. “The oil in our lamps is burning, For Him who was and is and is returning.” That line carries the whole weight of our Christian hope: Past, present, and future, all coming together in One. Does your faith leave room for laughter? Can you imagine Jesus kicking off His sandals, dancing to a rhythm only He can hear? Strange thought? Maybe, but Cameron Pruitt’s song “If Jesus Danced” asks exactly that: “Sometimes I wonder if Jesus danced.” It’s a question worth pondering. Most of us picture Jesus as solemn, serious, carrying the weight of the world. But rarely do we picture Him laughing so hard that “the room relaxed.” Cameron insists this joy was real. Jesus wasn’t just a teacher of hard truths. He was, as Cameron sings, “the life of the party, radiant friend.” He warmed hearts. He had humor. People wanted to be near Him, not because He demanded reverence, but because His presence felt like sunshine. What happens when the world just isn’t enough?  In early 2025, Graham Guy was reading Revelation chapter 4. The picture of heaven gathered around the throne — declaring God holy and worthy of praise — planted the seed for this song. Three words surfaced from that moment: “King, Lamb, Lion.” Graham sent them to Ben Jero, and across a string of FaceTime calls between South Carolina and California, the song “King, Lamb, Lion” took shape.  The opening verse doesn’t pretend. “I’ve tried this world, but it won’t fill me,” the lyric admits, before landing at surrender: “My life laid down, at your feet.” That’s honest territory. Most of us have chased something we thought would satisfy, only to find ourselves empty-handed. Who’s standing with you in the storm? “Stand By Me” by Daniel Aranda is an amazing rendition of a hymn written by Charles Albert Tindley in 1905. Tindley was the son of a former slave, a man who knew what it meant to need help that wasn’t guaranteed. He didn’t write from comfort. He wrote from the middle of a fight, and that’s exactly why the song is still so relevant and cherished by many today. Daniel Aranda’s recording brings gospel legends Terry Blackwood and Charlie McCoy into that same lineage, carrying Tindley’s plea forward into a new generation.  The lyrics move through life’s troubles, one verse at a time. “When the storms of life are raging, stand by me”  — that’s not poetic exaggeration. Tindley’s first verse is about a ship tossed on open water, powerless against the waves.
